PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING
Pupil Premium Strategy for St. Peter’s Elwick CofE Primary School
At St. Peter’s Elwick CofE Primary School, we recognise the impact that pupil premium funding can have if spent in an effective way. Pupils in receipt of pupil premium funding (including pupils on Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years, Service Family pupils, pupils in authority care or adopted) may have barriers to achievement and are awarded pupil premium funding to overcome these barriers. Within our school we ensure that barriers to accessing activities, intervention in learning where required are overcome and support for our whole families is provided. Our pupils experience individual barriers relevant to their individual circumstances. It would be inappropriate to detail these barriers due to small numbers concerned and the risk of identification of individuals.
At St. Peter’s we have used this additional funding in a variety of ways including online tuition, purchase of additional resources to support curriculum work, support through the Thrive programme and bespoke family support, Teaching Assistant intervention and subsidy of a wide range of curricular and extra curricular activities. We use this approach for a number of reasons, including the evidence we have found that it has a positive impact on our pupils and their learning. We also know that supporting the whole family will benefit the whole child. We also use a range of EEF Toolkit strategies and the research provided by the EEF, including effective use of Teaching Assistants and evidence for raising aspirations.
The impact has resulted in excellent progress and strong outcomes for pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium.
The school has used the money allocated to the school budget to raise individual pupil achievement through the following:
2022/2023 | 2023/2024 | 2024/2025 | |
Income Received | £13898 | £10835 | £15,865.83 |
