Executive Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to the Federation of St. Peter’s Elwick Church of England and Hart Primary Schools

Welcome to our website that gives you an insight into our schools and our Federation. You can find out lots of information about our schools and get a brief overview of what our schools are like, but we would welcome you to visit us to get a deeper insight into our schools and our team.

We aim to give parents, carers and families a wider view of the learning opportunities and wider curricular activities that take place here at both St. Peter’s Elwick and Hart Primary Schools. We understand that many of our parents can find it difficult to get into school so we aim to share as much learning on the website as possible.

We are a federation of two small village schools in Hartlepool. This gives us all the benefits of a small, village school life with the added advantages of being part of a larger organisation to maximise opportunities. We are a hard federation, which means that we share one Headteacher and one Governing Body.

In our schools we hold high expectations and say that everything is ‘Always our best’. We aim to develop the whole child, ensuring pupils have a wide range of opportunities to succeed in academic work as well as music, sport and the Arts. We also firmly believe in respect and kindness towards others, which helps make sure our schools are vibrant, caring learning environments.

The pupils in our schools experience education in a small, village school situated in the countryside. We personalise our curriculum to ensure that pupils are educated about the world around them, including local wildlife, farming and using the local outdoor environment to learn. We are a small family environment who offer the widest opportunities, not limited by size. As one of our pupils aptly put it, ‘We may be a small school but we have a big personality.’

On the 1st November 2018 we have converted to academy status, joining the Northern Lights Learning Trust Multi Academy Trust. Their website can be accessed here https://www.northernlightslearningtrust.co.uk/. We see this as another opportunity to share excellent practice and provide our pupils with even more opportunities.

If you would like to visit either of our schools then please get in touch with our school office.
