Catch Up Strategy

The document below provides a costed summary regarding the strategies and approaches adopted by school to support our children as they returned to school after the extensive period of disruption as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

School Led Tutoring

Under School-Led Tutoring, all eligible state-funded schools were given a ringfenced grant to fund locally sourced tutoring provision for disadvantaged pupils. This could include using existing staff such as teachers and teaching assistants or external tutoring resources such as private tutors or returning teachers. The grant gives schools the flexibility to use tutors with whom they are familiar.
The grant for 2021/22 will cover 75% of the cost of tuition up to an £18 per pupil, per hour, unit cost. Schools have the flexibility to manage their own allocation and pay above or below this figure, where necessary, but in all cases will need to contribute 25% of the cost.
