School Dinners <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From September 2014 every child in\nReception, Year 1 and Year 2 no longer have to pay for a school dinner. They\nare entitled to universal free school meal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Hart Primary School, our cook\nprepares fresh healthy school meals every day. Often these dishes are based on home favourites. We hope that all\npupils will take up this offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eating a healthy meal is\nknown to improve behaviour, concentration and the ability to\nachieve. That\u2019s why it\u2019s especially important for children to eat a\ndelicious, healthy meal at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot is asked of pupils and students throughout the school day. We believe that a balanced, healthy school lunch is vital to help make sure they\u2019re nutritionally re-charged to work through the afternoon and able to deliver their best.<\/p>\n\n\n

School Meal Costs &  Free School Meals<\/strong><\/p>\n

From September 2026 the cost of a school meal for children in Nursery, Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 is \u00a33 per day or \u00a315.00 per week. This is payable via Arbor. <\/p>\n

Nursery \u2018Family Dining\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Hart Primary we believe that meal\ntimes are for bonding and communication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dinner table is a place of\ncommunity. Eating together gives us the opportunity to talk, laugh and share.\nTaking time out to catch up and talk lets us truly connect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Nursery, we provide a \u2018family dining experience\u2019 for our children. We use these times to model healthy eating behaviours, meal etiquette and social skills. All of our Early Years children learn how to set a table, how to use a knife and fork, develop table manners and etiquette, try new foods and develop social skills through meal times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nursery children who stay for lunch, a daily charge \u00a33 to cover the cost of a school lunch is payable if they have a school meal. This charge applies to both 15 and 30 hour nursery children. If a 15-hour child would like to stay for lunch then there is a \u00a35 per day supervision charge for this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
