We value all of the children in our school as every one of us is unique and can be a leader, this is why we have our apple tree in the entrance hall with photos of every child in our school. We believe it is important for the pupils at St. Peter\u2019s to know they are part of a family and that they are supported to be who God created them to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pupil voice is at the heart of everything we do and pupils are regarded, and see themselves,\u202fas leaders. Through courageous advocacy, our many and varied pupil leadership opportunities and our public speaking curriculum, we encourage leadership but also endeavour to give pupils the skills with which to do it successfully.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trust Parliament<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Our Northern Lights Learning Trust pupil parliament representatives work with other elected pupils from both primaries and secondary schools across our Trust to bring about meaningful change to their local area and beyond. <\/td><\/tr>
Junior Leadership<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Our Junior Leadership Team work alongside our Senior Leadership Team to evaluate school actions and identify ways in which the school can improve. They are always keen to share their work with visitors to the school. Junior Leadership members are appointed through an interview process designed by existing Junior Leaders.<\/td><\/tr>
BIG FISH Group<\/td>\"\"<\/td>The BIG FISH (Belief In God, Faith In Serving Him) group lead the spiritual development of themselves and their peers through leading worship, creating opportunities for reflection and supporting others in our school. They propel us in an attitude of prayer and reflection, understanding the importance of Christianity as a relationship rather than a religion. Any member of the school community is welcome to join in the group at any time.<\/td><\/tr>
Junior Road Safety Officers<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Our Junior Road Safety Officers help to make our community a safe place to be. They provide education, advise and solutions to improve road safety as well as working with the STAR NE charity to lead worship at Durham Cathedral for the families of victims of road traffic accidents.<\/td><\/tr>
STEM Ambassadors<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Our STEM Ambassadors promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths within school and with the wider community. They have led pupil workshops and been involved in some exciting national initiatives.<\/td><\/tr>
Lab Technicians<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Our lab technicians promote science learning through hands-on experiences. They ensure class environments have opportunities for scientific discovery and work with the STEM Ambassadors to promote a real love of science in our school.<\/td><\/tr>
Young Leaders<\/td>\"\"<\/td>The Young Leaders are trained in leading games and activities to encourage active and social play at break times.<\/td><\/tr>
Digital Leaders<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Digital leaders work along side the computing lead in school to manage devices and support teaching and learning. They work with both teachers and pupils to ensure everyone is safe online and can support others to ensure everyone knows how to stay safe when using all devices.  <\/td><\/tr>
Anne Frank Ambassadors<\/td>\"\"<\/td>The Anne Frank Ambassadors are trained members of our school community who work to raise awareness of and challenge prejudice and discrimination in our town and beyond. They have worked with charities supporting refugees and with the local mayor to tackle discrimination in our town.<\/td><\/tr>
EYFS Safety Officers<\/td>\"\"<\/td>Being an early years safety officer is an important job. Our job is to keep myself, my friends and my classroom safe. We do this by picking things up from the floor, reminding each other of the classroom rules and telling the adults if something is unsafe or broken. We always love being safety officers – we get to wear a high-viz jacket and a badge.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
