Sally Scott – Olympic Pole Vault Visit

On Monday 22nd May , our pupils from St. Peters Elwick joined with Hart Primary School to spend the day with Olympic pole vault Sally Scott, who spent the day leading fitness circuits with the children and talking to them about what she does as an athlete. Sally also hosted an assembly with a Q&A session to help inspire the children to keep fit and do more exercise. We are still currently collecting sponsor money which will help us to buy more sports equipment and resources for our pupils to have great experiences in their P.E. lessons. We will let you know very soon how much we have raised once all of the money has been collected and counted.

During the visit Sally said, “It was a privilege to come to your schools today. You were all so fantastic at the circuit. So energetic and well behaved. Thank you for having me!”

Anna, one of our pupils from Elwick said, “On Monday, Olympic Pole Vault (Sally Scott) visited our school. She talked to us about her previous competitions, explaining that not every competition she entered went the way she hoped. The majority went well, however one time Sally travelled all the way to Africa and jumped three no jumps! Even though she was annoyed with herself, Sally never gave up. She inspired all of us because whenever she was knocked down she always tried her hardest. She is always trying her best in everything which showed us that if you put your mind to something you can definitely achieve it.”
